WHY GO AND CRUISE?

At Go and Cruise we’re passionate about travel and visiting new places. The reward from visiting a new country or experiencing a different culture is something that opens your mind and fulfills your soul. We also believe that how you travel is really important to the enjoyment of your travel experience and that the best travel experiences are ones where you enjoy the journey and the destination!

That’s why we’re passionate about Cruises. A Cruise offers you the unrivalled ability to visit and experience multiple bucket list destinations in a single journey. At the same time, you get to experience travelling on board state of the art ships offering exquisite dining, exciting entertainment and the chance to relax in top of the range spa facilities.

It really is the best of both worlds, combining the adventure of visiting multiple destinations with the relaxation of staying in a top end hotel or resort. Best of all you only have to unpack once as your accommodation moves with you to your next destination maximising the time for you to explore or relax.

Go and Cruise will bring you some of the best new cruise and travel articles.  We’ll look at exciting destinations, review some of the best ships at sea and you’ll get the inside track from my blog.  Alongside this we’ll bring you the latest news as well as providing helpful advice designed to ensure you get the most out of your cruise.  Put simply, at Go and Cruise we want to ensure we’re Inspiring Your Voyage!

MEET ANNABEL

If you are reading this, then I am guessing you are considering cruising or have cruised before, you will not be disappointed and once you have cruised, no other mode of travel will beat it.

Sixteen years ago, in a room in shared student accommodation at the University of Hull, my now husband and I agreed that whilst we so desperately wanted to travel the world, we also needed to get our ‘first’ jobs and pursue our careers. That burning desire to see the world did not go away and as soon as we could afford, annual holiday leave was filled with trips all around the world, seeing the most awe inspiring sights.

One cold, bleak January when the seasonal festivities were a distant memory, my husband and I embarked on our favourite discussion, where shall we go on holiday this year? It was at that moment that I mentioned my mum and dad had been on a cruise and had loved it. After some deliberation, decision made, we were going to try a cruise, a week departing from Palma in Majorca, sailing around the Mediterranean.

Twenty cruises later and we are hooked! Every opportunity we had to cruise, we did and we loved every minute. Some of our most significant life events have occurred on a cruise ship; my dad’s 60th birthday, 30th birthday celebrations and the first weeks nurturing the precious 10 week old life which became my 5 year old son! I am so excited to share with you my passion for cruising, I hope you find it fun.

Cruising has never been so accessible; you can enjoy epic voyages of multiple weeks or months, however, if you fancy a quick trip, there are two or three day itineraries around our nearest neighbours. If you want to fly and take a cruise, you can do, with nothing more breath-taking than seeing your ship when you arrive to board in an oversees port. You can also embark much closer to home with no flight and take that extra bit of luggage with you! Wherever you board, the cruise staff will be there smiling and welcoming you aboard to begin your voyage.

When aboard, there are many cabin options; inside cabins to the luxury suites, I have been lucky enough to experience them all and have appreciated every minute. One of the most special things for me about cruising is the way that all ages and all budgets can enjoy sailing around the world.

As a couple, my husband and I indulged with delight in the many opportunities cruising affords you; the theatre shows, speciality dining and the obligatory day at sea wine tasting! As parents, we have celebrated the wonder in our children’s faces when they see the glittering spectacular that is the atrium or the excitement of seeing the traditional amusements of Tivoli Gardens in Copenhagen or just falling asleep in mummy’s arms in front of The Church of Spilled Blood in St Petersburg.

Cruises are intergenerational, an amazing way of spending time with parents, grandparents, cousins, aunts and uncles; dinner being an opportunity to relish in each other’s adventures ashore. I cannot wait to share my memories and adventures with you; be it river tubing on Christmas Day in Grenada, navigating Bruges in a horse drawn carriage or taking an overnight excursion through the Atlas Mountains to Marrakesh between ports.

Most importantly I hope the content here at Go and Cruise inspires you to take your own adventure and see a little bit more of the world.  You don’t need the biggest budget or a large amount of time to travel on a cruise and see some wonderful sights.  We want to inspire and help you to make the memories of a lifetime. Please do get in touch and let me know if there’s anything you’d like to see on Go and Cruise and we’ll do our best to help. Happy cruising!  Annabel x
