Mariner Of The Seas Receives $90m Makeover

Royal Caribbean announces exciting new features aimed at those seeking a weekend get-away.

Shorter cruises are becoming increasingly more popular and the upcoming makeover of Mariner of the Seas, announced by Royal Caribbean, is designed to appeal to those wanting a quick break from the day to day. With additional thrilling outdoor activities, great new dining options and improved drinking venues, the planned 3 and 4 night Bahamas itineraries are enticing.

Thrill seekers are bound to want to try the Sky Pad, a brand new bungee trampoline experience. This can either be experienced with a virtual reality headset, helping transport you to a far off intergalactic planet, or without for those who want to take in the surrounding ocean as jump toward the sky.

Other great new activities have been added to the Mariner including The Perfect Storm racing waterslides and glow in the dark laser tag. Puzzle Break: The Observatorium, a new escape room offers a great chance to test yourself in solving puzzles against the clock and a brand new Flow Rider has been added at the top of the ship.

The improved nightlife options include two new bars to try out when the sun goes down. The Polynesian-themed Bamboo Room lounge will be a favourite, serving speciality handcrafted cocktails. The Playmakers sports bar will also add a great space to take in any sporting events taking place while you cruise.

The addition of a new Starbucks will please coffee lovers, and two new dining venues, Jamie’s Italian and Izumi Hibachi & Sushi offer fantastic alternatives to the already great dining venues to be found on board. So whether it’s a rustic Italian meal or made to order exotic sushi dish, the new options will not disappoint.

With the Mariner continuing to offer a number of signature Royal Caribbean experiences, such as the Studio B ice-skating rink and 40-foot rock climbing wall, the post makeover sailings starting in June 2018 are sure to be popular.
