Making The Most Of Your Day At Sea

Often people associate cruises with exotic destinations and ports of call, however one of the pleasures of a cruise is a day at sea exploring your ship.

Here at Go and Cruise we are big fans of visiting the amazing places across the world that a cruise can take you to. You can literally visit some of the most amazing places on earth on a cruise and it is one of the reasons many take their first cruise and return multiple times. One thing that always surprises people when they cruise however is just how much fun a day at sea can be.

It’s easy to see a day at sea as simply time travelling to your next destination, but in reality it’s time for you and your travelling companions to relax, enjoy each other’s company and have some indulgent time away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

One of the things we love most about a cruise is the fact that you enjoy the journey as much as your fantastic destination! It’s actually fairly unique in travelling that you can mix exploring new places and having a relaxing fun filled vacation. A day at sea creates a unique opportunity to be self-indulgent.

Whether you are onboard a large resort ship or a smaller more classical cruise line there will be numerous opportunities to enjoy your day at sea. If you want to relax, grab a coffee and a seat overlooking the ocean before you head off to the spa for a relaxing massage. If you want to be active hit the gym or a dance class before going rock climbing or zip lining. Like food and drink? Go wine-tasting before heading for afternoon tea. There really is something for everybody.

As night falls music fills the ship from the piano bar, to the band in the atrium to the show in the theatre. If you like keeping yourself to yourself, no problem, but if you want to mix and make new friends you’ll find no end of willing volunteers.

Hi I’m Annabel, the Editor here at Go and Cruise! I’ve always loved travelling, visiting different places and experiencing new cultures.  I think that the best travel involves enjoying the journey as well as the destination and have found cruises a great way to experience some of the most inspiring locations in the world.

Over the last 10 years I’ve been lucky enough to visit over 50 ports, in more than 25 countries, on four different continents. On my voyages I’ve been able to tick some amazing adventures off my travel bucket list and I hope that Go and Cruise will inspire you to also make the memories of a lifetime.
